Modern Foreign Languages

At St Peter's, we believe that language learning is an important element in our ability to make connections with other people, develop friendships, explore cultures and become active global citizens. Here at St Peter's, our Key Stage Two pupils have weekly French lessons involving a wide range of activities including songs, stories, games and role-play.

Our teachers follow the Rachel Hawkes - French scheme of work which "draws on key recommendations from the pedagogy review and the Ofsted languages research report, highlighting the three key knowledge strands: phonics, vocabulary, and grammar. They also exploit everyday and rich cultural contexts to build confident communication in the new language."

If you have any questions about our MFL curriculum at St Peter's, please get in touch via admin@st-peters.towerhamlets.sch.uk - with the subject 'MFL Questions'.
