Welcome to Our School
Welcome to St Peter's London Docks CE Primary School!
|
I have had the joy and privilege of being the head teacher of St Peter’s London Docks since 2008 and have recently been appointed Executive Headteacher across both St Peter’s and Stepney Greencoat CE Primary School. St Peter’s has been described as “a modern school with deep roots”. That is certainly been my experience of a school deeply rooted within its community, celebrating diversity and enjoying close links with our parish church of St Peter’s. The school was established in 1856 by Father Lowder, who saw the desperate need for education for “the poor of the Parish” and opened a small school in the clergy house on Wapping Lane. Since then, St Peter’s has gone from strength to strength. We are proud of our roots as a Church of England school, welcoming children and families of all faiths and none, but with a clear vision of an education based on Christian values (our school LIGHT values). One of the many benefits of being a small, one form entry school is the depth and quality of relationships. All staff prioritise getting to know children individually, to ensure that we enable them to flourish. We genuinely believe that parents and carers are the experts on their children and we value honest, open communication for the benefit of all. Our leadership team is very present on the school gate with a friendly smile and a listening ear. We work hard to ensure that each child receives excellent classroom teaching, delivering a broad and engaging curriculum that interests children and enables them to make excellent progress. We are proud that the school has a proven track record of excellent outcomes at the end of Key Stage 2, compared to National figures. This is testament to the quality of teaching within the school. We are equally proud that we are a very inclusive school and get excited about the progress of every single child at St Peter’s. St Peter’s London Docks Primary works closely with Stepney Greencoat which enables our staff to work collaboratively and share expertise, providing a partnership that benefits our staff, pupils and parents. We are always pleased to welcome visitors and are very happy to show you around our school. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. |
